When I'm not working, I still tend to sit in front of screens of one form or another- computer screens, TV screens, cinema screens- I'd probably even watch paint dry if it was behind a glass screen :-/
My current "thing" is my DVD collection, and finding ways to expand it :-) Although for most of my life so far (which admittedly, isn't very long) I've mainly watched science-fiction films such as Star Trek and Star Wars, I've recently taken an interest in other types of films. I particularly like comedies, with my favourites including Shakespeare in Love, Love's Labour's Lost (Kenneth Brannagh's musical version, that is), Bowfinger and Galaxy Quest. On the more serious side, I also really like Gladiator, The Green Mile and Glory, amongst others.
Aside from films, as you may have gathered from my degree title, I'm also interested in computers.
Until recently, my own main machine was an Amiga A1200, which I've had for about 6 years. It's had a fair few bits bolted onto it since it was new, although it's unfortunately not quite "up to it" these days, so I've had to retire it- it is now living out its last remaining days in my bedroom cupboard.
These days, I prefer to use my funky laptop PC. Aside from a few little "glitches" here and there, this machine rocks. Although not the fastest machine on the block any more (PIII/1GHz, which only just managed to qualify as "top end" when I bought it a year ago), it's still pretty funky- Medal of Honor runs brilliantly. I keep the "Amiga Spirit", whatever that might be, alive on the laptop by running WinUAE so I can still use some of my favourite software, such as Photogenics.
I also use an Apple PowerMac 6500, which was donated by my boss when he decided he no longer had any use for it. It's quite a cool machine, although I don't have much software for it yet (it's a recent acquisition).
