Officially labelled as "Class Geek", I spent much of my formative years in front of screens. Usually this was the TV, but occasionally the computer, too. Contrary to what many people may tell you, this is not very dangerous. In fact, the voices in my head are telling me there were no noticable side effects at all.

In high school, I mainly studied technical subjects, such as, um, technical drawing, information technology and technology. This was partly due to my interest in techgnology, but also partly because I was lousy at anything even vaguely approaching artistic, and I wanted some decent grades.

I continued this technical theme onto college when I went to study for A-Levels in Physics, Maths and Computing at Blackburn College. A-Levels were great- lots of time was spent just winding each other up. Somehow, most of us still managed to learn enough to pass the exams...

In July of 2000 I was awarded a BSc. in Computer Science with a European Language by the University of Liverpool, after being a student there for four years, including a year studying at the Johannes Kepler Universität in Linz, Austria. Having completed my course and being let loose on the Real World®, I set about looking for a job in the I.T. sector.

In the mean time, I was employed by Argos, the catalogue shop. I worked at their Preston branch for about 3 years before I left to study in Austria and, fortunately, they liked me enough to take me back when I returned. It wasn't a particularly fun job, but I made a few good friends there, which kinda made up for it :-)
